MANNITOL SALT AGAR (CHAPMAN) BIOPREPARE is a nutrient used for selective isolation and staph counts from clinical or non-clinical samples.
Peptones and beef extract provide the necessary growth factors such as nitrite, carbon and trace elements. The high concentration of sodium chloride results in the partial or total inhibition of the growth of all bacteria except Staphylococcus. The fermentation of mannitol, which occurs with a change in the color of the red indicator of phenol, helps to differentiate the species of staph.
Available in a 9cm plate.
