Intended use
Test for the quantitative determination of gamma glutamyltransferase (g-GT; GGT; EC 2.3.2.2) in blood, serum or plasma with Reflotron.
Clinical aspects
g-Glutamyltransferase is used for the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases of the liver and biliary tract. Elevated activity of this enzyme, often in isolation, is one of the most sensitive indicators of hepatobiliary disease. g-Glutamyltransferase is also used as sensitive screening test for detection of concealed alcoholism. Increased GGT activities in serum are also often found in patients on long-term medication with drugs such as phenobarbital and phenytoin.
Available in a tube of 30 test/strips.
